Welcome to my portfolio/blog/place of therapeutic release — my name is Greg Asciutto. Formally trained in print and digital journalism, I, like all other millennials with writing degrees, teach high school English.
After graduating from the University of Southern California in 2014, I moved home — North Carolina. I currently teach at Garinger High School in East Charlotte, though I still enjoy writing things other than lesson plans and disciplinary referrals.
The archives of this site prove to potential freelance employers that once upon a time I did take a shot at a career in journalism. I now generally write observations and reflections on topics of urban poverty — homelessness, substance abuse, race relations and prostitution, among others.
